DESCRIPTION

The pressurized irrigation lab is designed to: test emitters and irrigation lines to control production processes, characterization and certification of operating conditions and operation of pipelines, emitters, irrigation equipment and accessories; realization of curves performance of issuers in field measurement and control equipment under normal and extreme operating; Studies for preventing clogging of emitters by irrigation water, Analysis and testing of new equipment and items for use in micro irrigation; Research increased efficiency in water use and implementation of water use marginal and regulation of information exchange between governmental institutions, authorities, manufacturers, consumers and academics.

The pressurized irrigation lab, has an area of ​​80 m2 for testing emitters and irrigation lines. It has a pumping system with temperature control and water pressure to perform tests according to ISO 9260 and EN 68075 to 68086, where it provides the university community and the public and private sector, a research center, study and advice on management and utilization of water resources with emphasis on: irrigation pressure, measurement of soil water status and plant continuous and real time.

The studies performed in the laboratory are given the highest standards of quality, in order to optimize the services provided. In this way, customer satisfaction seeks to develop projects that meet their needs and expectations, applying provisions which result in obtaining solutions, designs and services.

HISTORY


The pressurized irrigation Laboratory is operated in the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Colombia since 2001. Its creation was done through the development of a Master's Thesis in Agricultural Sciences Faculty of Agronomy. Has had an ongoing activity since its creation, getting a great experience in the themes it develops. This experience has been passed down through several generations of engineers.


The laboratory is dedicated to developing work of teaching, research, studies and consultancy in the area of ​​pressurized irrigation engineering. Serves cooperation and technical support to various public and private entities. Further investigations are themselves in the field of irrigation in order to find new technologies to apply to the work it undertakes.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES


In the Pressure Irrigation Lab develop academic undergraduate and graduate: teaching practices, students, Research and Extension. The Laboratory of Irrigation under pressure, serving in teaching the following courses per semester:
  • Drip irrigation. 20 Students.
  • Facilities for irrigation. 15 Students.
  • Automation and Control in Biosystems. 17 Students.
