The Laboratory is located in building 409, with a total area of 290 m2.

It has several specialized areas of work like this:

  • Models beach.
  • Practice area with hydraulic machines.
  • Classrooms.
  • Offices teachers.
  • The Hydraulics Laboratory works are shared with the Water Testing Laboratory where the computer room and the documentation center

HISTORY
With 55 years of history, Hydraulics Laboratory was built based on the designs of Hydraulic Engineering and Professor Hunter Rouse. This laboratory has the facilities to carry out experiments to verify the theoretical and behaviors established in fluid mechanics and hydraulics, as well as testing and calibration of hydraulic devices.

LINES OF INTEREST

The main activities carried out in the Hydraulics Laboratory are related to Teaching and Research:

  • Hydraulics of open channels
  • Hydraulic pipes.
  • Fluid mechanics.
  • Mathematical modeling

ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES

In the Laboratory of Hydraulics, develop academic and teaching practices and student internships, research, project assistance as Master's thesis, and Extension Service, local and national projects.

The Hydraulics Laboratory serves in teaching the following courses per semester:

  • Hydraulics courses.
  • Fluid Mechanics courses.
  • Laboratory practice using specialized equipment.
  • Development of master's thesis that require the use of equipment and hydraulic machines.

The Hydraulics Laboratory is the ability to provide the following services to the community:

  • Technical expertise.
  • Calibrations Windlasses, Gauges, Holes, Landfills, pumps, valves and tanks.
  • Facilities and Water and sanitary fixtures.
  • Hydrostatic pressure testing.
  • Gauging.
