The roads play an important role in the economical and social life of the countries, most of the industrialized countries have been developing the transportation systems during the years. Optimal pavement design can be defined as the one that minimizes total transport costs to society, which comprise the sum of agency costs and road user costs.  The design of the pavement structure involves many variables and activities, such as, selection of the materials, local materials, climate, road traffic, drainage. .  However, it may not be economically feasible to use these high design standards in developing countries, because of significant differences in socioeconomic conditions and in local materials. For this reason it is necessary to understand the behavior, performance and mechanical comportment of the materials and the road structure to design an optimal pavement structure in our country.
