Digital signal processing and processors: principles and applications - Program

The program will be thought from July 6th to the 30th,  with  four lessons per week, Tuesday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 m. (The July 20th lesson is moved to Monday 19th).

First Part: Digital Signal Processing Fundamentals

1st and 2nd Weeks (July 6th - 16th)

  • Signal sampling. Analog ↔ digital conversion.
  • Analysis of numerical systems.
  • Elements of filtering.
  • Examples to sound processing.
  • Examples of hardware.

Germán Hernández - Juan Carlos Galeano (English)

  • FFT algorithm and variants.
  • Overview of computational intelligence and machine learning techniques.

3rd Week (July 21st - 23rd)

Eduardo Romero (English)

  • Processing large visual data: applications in medicine. 

Second Part: Digital Signal Processors

4th Week (July 27th - 30th)

Henry Moreno (Spanish)

  • DSP 6713, FIR, IIR filters
  • FFT and proper algorithms for one dimensional signals
  • Code Composer Studio Environment.

Dominik Makowski (English)

  • Two-dimensional signals (video/images) processing.

Henry Moreno - Dominik Makowski (Spanish - English)

  • Two practical sessions.
